Apple Pencil 2 skipping strokes on iPad Pro 11-inch 2020

I'm having this recurrent issue where my Apple Pencil 2 skips strokes or draws random strokes on the iPad. I'm using iPadOS 14 on an iPad Pro 11-inch mid-2020 model. I've noticed that when the iPad is held in landscape mode, the pencil struggles the most to write in the top left portion of the screen to the point where writing is almost impossible. The pencil doesn't struggle as much in other portions of the screen. This issue is universal across writing apps like Apple Notes, Notability, OneNote, etc. I've tried replacing the tip, repairing the pencil, rebooting the iPad, and resetting the iPad, but to no avail.

However, I've noticed that a temporary fix is to write a few strokes without my palm on the screen. When I do this, the pencil works perfectly. I'm thinking this may be an issue with palm rejection, but how can I narrow down this issue?

Hey there ScientificCrisis,

We understand there are issues with your Apple Pencil particularly in one section of your iPad screen. We'll be happy to help.

To begin, we'd recommend cleaning your iPad screen. Use the steps here: How to clean your Apple products

If it persists, you may need to remove any cases or screen protectors to fully test the issue.

Another option would be to test the Apple Pencil with a different iPad to isolate further.

If you still experience issues though, it would be best to contact Apple Support for next steps or have your devices inspected. Reference the links below.
