AddressBook cleanup?

Have two iMacs that have been through several generations of macOS, one currently running Big Sur and the other Catalina. Today, the Catalina machine was slowed down by some AddressBook script activity. Which seemed odd, since no longer have AddressBook.

There is an Apple developer note directing developers to migrate to Contacts as of macOS 10.11.

Both machines have quite a few Library/ Application Scripts entries for AddressBook stuff. The Catalina machine also has AddressBook stuff in Library/ Application Support.

Anyone have an insight as to why these cannot just be deleted?
