western digital not working

Hi everyone, I upgrade my OS recently and my MAC is NOT reading my WD My Passport at all...

Anyone have this problem? I've even downloaded the WD Drive utilities and it still not connecting and finding it...

Any solutions?

If it wasn't working with the previous OS, then there is no reason. why it would start with a newer one.

It appears, from what you provided, that either the drive or the connector cable is failing. A few things you can try are:

  • Try connecting it to another USB port on your Mac.
  • Try another cable.
  • See if you can access it when it is connected to another computer.

FWIW, I have updated a number of my Macs to macOS Big Sur. I also have a number of WD My Passports, and so far, I have had no issues accessing any of them from these Macs.

These external drives are mostly formatted in HFS+, but a few are APFS or FAT32. None are either exFAT nor NTFS.

Which exact model is your MacBook Pro? Is it still running OS X El Capitan as per your tagline?
