Homepod not playing News updates

Did not work, even did a hard reset to HomePod as suggested on other feeds. Note it is only the HomePods affected, iPad & iPhones all work even on home WiFi. Issue is Siri responds as if playing the news feed but then states “ sorry, you don’t have any unplayed episodes of BBC news.”

It's SO incredibly frustrating - this was working flawlessly until a few days back and now every time I ask for a news update I just get the "no unplayed episodes" response.

What makes it even worse is that I removed and added my homepod and now the voice changes to robot voice halfway through it talking. It interrupts itself "sorry starting again" and then continues in robot voice.

We have 3 home pods in the home, all have the same issue. Done a reset via Home app, removed and setup as fresh via Home app, hard reset via device and restarted router several times. Still not working. As others say been perfect until a few days ago.

Same here with Canadian news. If I ask, "Hey Siri, give me the latest news" It'd give me either CBC or CNN. Lately though CNN gets me "sorry, no unplayed episodes." leading me to believe it plays podcast-type segments.

The real kicker is (I now have 2 HP mini) one will give me the above message but the other will play just fine. 😳

No I never tried it , my news is there but I just thought it might work because when I asked for “my update” it asked me if I would like to remove news, so I thought maybe you can ask for it to be added back. I don’t see any settings where you can customize what you want in your updates. Obviously it’s something they should add.

I am having same issues. Original HomePod stopped giving bbc news. It says here is the latest news from the bbc and then says sorry you don’t have any unplaced episodes of bbc news. Is it not able to access/ blocked from the bbc just like the radio station. If so it is a poor show by bbc as we pay a licence fee for their content.

Seems like this is an issue worldwide. Is there any way someone could contact Apple directly this has happened since the latest ISO update. Are used to enjoy listening to news updates over breakfast and when I arrived home from work. It’s a real pity

Nope that doesn’t work either. I’ve tried everything to try and fix this problem including restarting resetting updating and everything above. Apple really does need to get this sorted out far from acceptable. Very disappointing.

I tried that, it didn't work either. Still the same response.

Never told Siri to stop telling me the news. A restart does not help either. Looks like some peoples issues are resolving so hopefully mine will start working again one of these days!
