Apple logo flash at startup

New iPhone 12 Pro. At startup the Apple logo flashes super bright for a brief second then the screen goes dark for about 10 seconds before the Apple Logo re appears at normal brightness to finish the startup. I’ve had iPhones for years and never had the logo turn on and then off during startup. Is that Normal for the 12?

What I noticed after 6 replacement devices that the issue start only after 1st full charge.

device out of the box is working fine even after activation and moving the data .


working normally if partially charged , i kept my last replaced device for 3 days working normally with partially charged battery and when I decided to fully charge it to confirm if the issue will happen again or not. Guest what apple logo start to flash again. So i send it back to replace it.

vipsnbiala— good luck with that. Scroll above and you’ll see that many of us went to the store and we got varied responses. They haven’t fixed any of them. A few people got phones replaced but it took numerous replacements for some of them to get a phone that didn’t do this. Many of us have also updated or reinstalled the operating system to no avail. Let us know how it works.

After all, with so much discussion in the community about this blink of an apple, what conclusion have we all come to with this device? I have read all 32 pages of the community about this problem and there is no specific result. We changed so many ideas and what is the end result? Will we wait for the next upgrade? And then he will definitely fix it with her; Fortunately it does not affect the phone and works properly. However, many users were angry with this brand, because it does not provide solutions. Do not waste your time going to the store or replacing your phone right now. I replaced my wife’s phone twice same problem. Spoke to Apple support and they called me back after speaking with senior engineers that they know about the problem and it should be fixed in upcoming software updates. Keep a record of your case number and let’s see what happens

Apart from flashing of apple logo please observe that initially apple logo is at max brightness and then another logo comes with dimmer brightness. Then kindly have a check on brightness- i checked with

My iphone 11 pro vs iphone X vs 12 pro


Result is that iphone 12 pro screen is the dimmest screen.

But if you consider in back of mind of apple logo that flashed. - may be they tweaked it to be dimmer to avoid screen damage they are aware of. Its my best possible guess.

But please do check this in your phones as well.

I have the same issue with iPhone 12 + could not restore backup from old iPhone X, I don't know if it's related, but I have the iPhone for a month+ and could not use it. Unfortunately, we don't have Apple stores in Saudi and Apple authorized repair is helpless as usual. I don't know what to do because when I took it to what is called apple authorized repair he returned it to me saying there was nothing wrong with the device. This message to Apple support if they ever read these comments; we (Apple users) demand and deserve a better service that what you called your authorized repair Arab computers, try to send a survey to all apple users in Saudi if they gave them more than 2/5 star call me a lier. I don't know when Apple is going to open stores in Saudi, I know you already have a license to open in Riyadh at least.

100% agree with you as i am also one of the customer in Riyadh. Arab computer representative even didnt want to interest with my case yesterday until i asked the manager, then manager tried to help some how. I submit the new iphone 12 pro to arab computer to be fixed regardless issue related to SW or HW. If they can not fix the issue and turn back me the same iphone with issue, i will raise the case to minister of commerce.


in addition to this, apple support center is also totally useless, just speaking without any solid action, without valid justification.


this is good lesson learnt for me and for my all friends who want to buy apple product in Saudi Arabia...

Response from Apple call center: If you submit faulty iphone, in any case we will not exchange, you have to wait for sw upgrade. So they pushed me to wait but in any case i submitted faulty iphone to the arab computers in Riyad.


at the end, he couldnt reply my below question, he didnt allow me to discuss with technical engineer for more details


Why same SW is working fine with another iphone 12 pros, but has problem with my iphone pro? For this question still no response.

Like everyone else on here I am having the same issue!!! I have replaced three devices now all with the same issue. Apple has not been very helpful with this issue as well, only offering to run a diagnostics and to either take into an Apple Store or mail it in.


I have used the link and have determined that all units were manufactured January 2021. However, all were manufactured in China, Zhengzhou and the serial numbers started with F2LF4.

Hi! I have the same problem with IPhone 12 Pro Max. I bought it in the store in Playa del Carmen in January. I have a flashing logo and also sometimes I receive a message that there is water in the lighting port and the charging is not available. But no water exactly. Online apple service suggested me just to restart the phone to solve the problem with a logo. Of course it doesn’t work. Also no info concerning to the water in the lighting port. A service specialist in the store checked my iPhone with a special program and said that there was no errors. He said to wait the updates. Another specialist said to delete everything and install once again but using iTunes on the computer not just the phone. I haven’t tried yet. Did anyone try to do it ?

No I had a serial number GONF assembled in the US. It had the logo flash and was very bright. Exchanged it for F2LF Foxconn and it didn’t have the logo flash after setup/restore from back up. I turned it off several times to check and see and it didn’t do it and when I shut it off for the night and turned on in the am it started on this new one but not as bright and not as fast of a flash. But anything made after Dec. 31 usually does it no matter the serial #

Mine’s doing this too (12 pro max). Only switch my phone off when I go for a run (run with watch). But turning the phone on isn’t so easy with this problem. Can take minutes as you keep retrying. Hoping it doesn’t ever completely fail to start 😳


Still within the return period for the phone so not sure what to do - return or hope an iOS update fixes.
