Connecting Airplay to Samsung tv

I had an issue connecting Airplay (on my Mac Pro) to my Samsung tv. Since other laptops connect just fine, I knew it wasn't an issue with the TV. The Mac Pro is on Big Sur 11.1. In system preferences-security, I also found that I was not able to update any firewall settings (as I assumed Air play was being blocked) as my admin password wasn't accepted. I didn't find anything useful on the Apple support sites. I ended up finding a note elsewhere about Apple T2 Security Chips having an issue with an admin password not being recognized. I ultimately had to reset the SMC, and then I was able to update the firewall settings, to allow built in applications to connect. Airplay then worked just fine. I think this basic info should be posted on the Apple support site as it would have saved me hours today.
