Email Search Function

I am running Big Sur on my iMac 2020 model. When I type a keyword in the search field in Apple Mail, nothing happens. It still shows all my emails in the account but behaves as if I am not asking it to search for anything. Any ideas on how to fix this?

MAIL SEARCH NOT WORKING I upgraded to Mac Ventura, now the search function in mail is not working properly. I have tested it numerous times and it can not find all emails from a particular client. anyone else having this issue? I enter the search mode and it may bring up one email and I can see multiple ones in my inbox. Sometimes it says 0 found and I know there are multiple emails there.

Search Function in Mail App on MacBook Pro - Apple M1 Pro When I go into Mail and try to search for an email, It won't work, I type in what I'm looking for, and select enter and it won't search. I've updated the software, and I've restarted my computer. Can anyone help?

Sorry about the spelling error in the subject line. I was typing it on my iPhone quickly. It is supposed to read, "Email Search Function."
