how come when someone txts me i receive a notification, but when i lock my screen the notification is not on my home screen?

This is causing a HUGE issue in my relationship. my boyfriend thinks I'm lying to him and I don't know what to do. when he text's or calls me I receive the notification on the top of my screen... but it does not appear on my home screen once my phone is locked. He thinks I'm being sneaky and took his number off notifications. Does this happen to anyone else? I even screenshot me receiving a notification and then I locked my screen, screenshot to him how his notification is not there and he still thinks I'm lying. I think I'm about to be single. thanks, apple!!

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! We see you're having an issue with notifications on your iPhone's Lock Screen and we'd like to do what we can to help.

Lock Screen is an option for notifications, as with Notification Center and Banners. Check your settings for each app you're having the issue with, as shown here: Use notifications on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Then, restart your iPhone, as a restart can resolve unexpected issues: Restart your iPhone
