I'm using the wired Mighty Mouse (model A1152) with my Mac mini (Late 2014) on Big Sur. When setting the scrolling speed all the way down, the mouse scrolls tediously slow; one notch up is wickedly fast. How can I fix this?
You may end up replacing it with another wired or wireless mouse to get the desired scroll behavior.
Clean that miniature ball on the bottom of the wired mighty mouse, either by rapidly rolling it back forth on your jeans or with a warm, moist cloth (water only). I had no end of issues with my old mighty mouse and it drove me to at first, an Apple Magic Mouse, and then the Apple Magic Mouse 2 that I am still using.
I had a similar mouse and it went south on me similarly. I replaced it with the current Blue Tooth Apple Magic Mouse and it's the best I've ever used.
Thanks for your reply. I tried cleaning the mouse wheel ball but it doesn't seem to have helped. It doesn't seem like a dirt thing, but more of a software mapping thing. It's like the input from the mouse is too much information for the System Prefs to map properly.
