ECC disabled, Memory not upgradeable?

Fair point. This Mac is:

MacBook Pro

  Model Identifier: MacBookPro15,1

  Memory: 16 GB

MacBook Pro 15-Inch "Core i7" 2.6 Touch/2018

Both storage and RAM (memory) is soldered to the logic- board— it is not upgradable.

Ram choice is at the point of purchase only, not after the fact.

Maybe if you say what exact Mac this is we can say something constructive.

As leroydouglas says, the memory in that computer is not upgradeable. Why do you feel that 16 GB RAM is insufficient? Perhaps there is some other problem instead.
