HDCP Issue When Running Multi Monitor Setup

Hello:

I recently just went to a 4-monitor setup for my MacBook Pro and I wanted to test a video on my main monitor that I purchased from apple.

When I try to play the selected video, I get an error saying that I can't play it because my monitor is not HDCP ready. Well, weirdly it is, and I tested that by disconnecting every monitor but the one I want to play it on and it played no issue. As soon as I hooked the other monitors up again, same issue.

Is there a way to force the computer to play it on the monitor that is compliant? Not sure this is the right question but feels right in the moment.

If I'm not clear enough, let me know.

Thanks in advance,

Michael K.

Hey Kbigmike2121,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! We understand that when you have four external monitors connected to your Mac and try to play a purchased video, you're seeing an HDCP alert. How are you connecting them to your Mac? You'll want to use HDMI or DVI connections. More information on HDCP alerts can be found here: Connect to HDMI from your Mac

This alert can also happen if you're using any type of screen sharing software, and check any third-party display software you may have installed. If you do have any of those types of apps installed, temporarily remove them to see if that helps.

Thanks again, and take care.
