Mac mini doesn't remember external display orientation

My Mac mini with M1 doesn't remember the standard display orientation, it always rotates itself to 90 degrees.

You need to tell us the display model or at least, exactly what inputs the Samsung Display has.


At this point, I would try a straight cable connection without the adapter.

"HDMI to HDMI" using an HDMI cable or a

"USB-C to USB-C" if the display support USB-C input

(wake, restart, turning the display off/on or after disconnecting and reconnecting the display)


FWIW Mac's can sleep 24/7, try sleeping the Mac Mini and only letting the display go into standby mode.
