Delete Unused SMTP serverrs

I have a number of unused SMTP servers that were attached to a mail account ghat I deleted. I have trued several times to delete them form the server list by going to Mail -> Preferences -> Accounts -> Server Settings._> Outgoing Mail Servers -> Edit SMTP Server List. Deleted the and they keep coming back.. At least one of the is still trying to sendmail


I have deleted my icloud keychain. thinking that may help



Now thinking that there ie a preference in the Library i need to kll. Any thoughts or suggestions??

Hi there Jason Hirsh!


It sounds like you are having trouble removing a server from your mail server list in the Mail app. We'll be glad to give you some tips that can help with this issue.


Let's start by making sure that the email account is properly removed from your Mac. Take a look here under "Remove an email account from Mail" :Add or remove email accounts in Mail on Mac


Is the email account that you were using syncing information in other apps? If so, you will need to make sure that Mail is unchecked in Internet Accounts in your System Preferences.

Thanks you for you response.. Th mail account has been properly removed from the Mac. The SMTP server no longer appears but the Mac is still attempting to use it as indicated my the log on ml server

The ip is the ip where I a at ow and the Mac is the only machine operating on that IP. There must be some residual presence for lack of a better word
