Hello I changed a few of my iPhone 12 Pro settings and then the volume began bursting high on its own. I couldn’t figure out how to fix it, so I went into Settings-General-Erase All Settings and it worked. It also returned to the original wall paper and text size but at least it’s not bursting loud anymore.

To everyone experiencing this issue, I've discovered the exact cause: you have Spotify APP installed and a Spotify pro subscription.

What a Spotify premium membership allows you to do is control your app music from your computer, essentially synchronizing them.

I've disabled every pro setting in the Spotify app, yet the problem persists.

Unfortunately, the only way to fix this is to delete the Spotify app.

I believe Apple should include a volume monitoring so users can see which apps have changed the volume; otherwise, everyone assumes this is Apple's fault.

make a backup, restore using iTunes and try again

This has happened to me since Nov 2020 when I got my iPhone 12 Pro Max. I turn up the volume with the side button, then lock the phone, and the volume jumps to max. Similarly, the volume down button makes it jump to zero. It’s on the latest iOS and no fixes for it yet. It probably happens only 5-10% of the time, which is about once per day, but it’s hard to pinpoint the issue. Luckily, I’m not wearing headphones.

This has happened to me as well since Dec of 2020. When powering on the bluetooth headphones the volume will appear 50% volume but when something is played it jumps to 90% and can really hurt my ears. Very annoying this has not been addressed by apple yet. Switching the mute switch at the start of turning on the headphones appears to be on thing that triggers it to jump up (Also receiving notifications or alerts).

Same thing keeps happening to me, Iphone 11 pro max using an Mpow bluetooth heaset randomly answer a call and go deaf on that ear ,as the volume automatically goes to full blast even with the headphone safety lowered to lowest point 75 Dcb

So annoying and no one knows how to fix it maybe time to try a samsung pay so much to go deaf.

experiencing the same issue ever since I bought iPhone 12 Pro Max in March 2021. I was always updating the phone whenever the new updates were coming out but it didn’t help. I planned to update to iOS 15 but 99% sure it won’t help either. Apple support told be that it’s better to have the phone inspected at Apple service center. Did anyone did that?

I’ve been running iOS 15.2 for the last couple of days and I am still having this issue unfortunately.

i’m having this same exact issue and i do wear headphones so it’s dangerous when it happens, have you found a fix yet?

I have an iPhone 12 Mini, and I’ve had this problem since I’ve had the phone. Currently on iOS 14.5 but it’s been there since the earlier releases of 14

Just to bump this thread, I'm still having this issue in August of 2021. Please fix Apple, it makes airpods almost unusable.
