iPhone jumping to max volume

I am using iPhone 8Plus IOS 14.4. I have automatic updates on.

I am using Bose QC35 II

This is a relalitvely new problem.

If I turn the headphones of or if the connection is lost and turned on again the volume has gone to 100%. Can be very uncomfortable and probably even unhealthy for the hearing. First time I almost soiled my pants...

You can turn of sonds and haptics, you can lower reduce load sounds to 75 dcb, you can turn off change with buttons you can update your phone ,you can go to face id and passcodes, you can even even call Obama, and they cannot fix it

loosing hearing in one ear maybe we should try the The Huawei P30 my friend swears by it.

Tried erasing all settings did all that went back to original phone setting text size wall paper etc

and bang went looking for an ear doctor and a Samsung distributor on the way home

so did not work for me using Bluetooth headset I phone pro max

this same problem is happening to me on an iphone 12 pro max, and it’s been happening since i got the phone late 2020. i haven’t noticed it as much with my airpods as i have with just holding my phone. trying to listen to music at home and having it SKYROCKET to 100% volume when it was on 2 is outrageous. even when i turn it down to zero it will jump back up. i’m getting really tired of this problem and idk how to fix it :(

I'm having the same issue still till this day, and I have the latest software (IOS 15). Is there still not fix to this issue as of yet? Please apple, my ears feel like they want to cry every time this happens.

I've recently started facing the same issue with my iPhone 12, volume just suddenly burst to 100% out of nowhere. Sometimes I'm in the middle of a game, and there was a time I was just texting and saw the volume bar on the left pops up and max to 100%. Super strange.

Did you try contacting apple? I contacted them and they told me that I should send my phone for diagnostics so they can figure out what is wrong. But I’m not able to do that right now. Moreover, on another discussion someone told me that Apple didn’t find a problem even after inspection at service center. After that I completely lost hope.

I’m having this exact same issue with my iPhone 12 Pro Max and AirPods Pro. Im on iOS 15.1

When I try to adjust the volume using the volume buttons and lock the screen quickly, the volume jumps to max and almost gives me a heart attack!

Happens to me all the time, at least once per day. This is clearly a software bug that is affecting many users, are Apple aware of this issue and is it being worked on?

the Spotify feature is for the specific track and placement you last listened at, not volume, same with any Apple music feature.

This issue occurs even if I am watching YouTube videos on either device.

I have the max volume issue on my iPad and iPhone whenever I have used Bluetooth of headphones, I have tested using AirPod Pro, AirPod Max and my Bose 700.

The iPhone and iPad speaker volumes both end up at 100% volume, latest OS version on all devices.

Bumping so this doesn't get locked.

I'm using an iPhone 12 mini iOS 15.4.

Same as most of you guys, I lock the phone and immediately press and hold volume up/down for half a second and volume goes max/min

Wow. I can't believe I spent over a year assuming I just had a stuck button or something. This is clearly a problem apple has been made aware of several times and done nothing about, not to mention a health/safety issue. I know a couple consumer law scholars who don't practice anymore, but definitely know some good lawyers who do; I'll reach out this week and see what their prognosis is.

Bumping this to see if anyone at apple cares enough to take a look at it.

I can’t buy anymore apple products if they’re not only going to damage your hearing, but they don’t even care to respond or look for a solution.

gonna have to go Samsung if this can’t be fixed.

I am also having the exact same problem on my iPhone 12 Pro Max, and I am on the latest iOS. It happens for me about once a day when I am playing music on my phone speakers. I have had it turn the volume to both the minimum and maximum on separate occasions.

This is still happening, June 2022, on iPhone 13 Pro Max. There does not seem to be a response. I am seriously considering returning this iPhone and go for a more trustworthy brand. There seems to be so many unresolved issues as I have found myself perusing this forum a lot since I bought this phone.

I’m having the same issue, iphone 12 mini. I was thinking maybe I’m pressing something or putting my finger somewhere, but really, it’s how you say. I turn the volume up, lock the phone and then my ears burst and I can only say Hey Siri, find me an ear doctor! It’s terrible, please Apple, do something about it.

The software is 15.5 now.
