For whatever reason every other time I adjust my volume then lock my phone it automatically jumps to the max volume. I am wearing my AirPods every time it happens so it could be that they are glitching but this issue only started after getting the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Same problem here. What’s worse, I wear hearing aides and get notifications through them. Imagine what it’s like when the notification volume is suddenly jacked up to a dangerously high volume. It scares the crap out of me every time. It’s like someone is punking me.
I’m using iOS 14.3. I’m going to install 14.4 tonight and see if the issue still occurs.
i Have this same issue with my 12 Pro Max and my AirPods Pro. Locked Device + Volume change will sometimes cause jumps in volume , in both directions but mostly up

This is such an annoying problem! Phone ringer volume jumps to max volume after every time I use my AirPods. I'm on iOS 14.7.1. Please fix this Apple!!

Please fix this , Apple! This is happening to me as well. No one at Apple or Verizon (where I purchased) seem to be able to help. Dangerous for my ears and incredibly annoying.
On my iPhone 12 Pro Max, I've updated to iOS 15.1 and its still happening!
Still not fixed and it happened twice on iOS 15.1 with my Airpod Pros on.
This can't be the root cause for me, as I do not have the Spotify app or a Spotify subscription.
I get this issue when listening to music via the Apple Music app.
Apple Music features a remote control feature, which might be the source of the issue.
Same here and support is keep asking me to add it as a feature request. Nothing was done since last July 2021. Will see maybe in 2023 or switch products.
I am still experiencing this problem in February 2022 on my iPhone 12 mini. I will be buying an Android for my next phone if this is not resolved.
They don't care, i had opened two tickets and I am paying the support...
Been annoyed by this since I got my 12 mini in November 2020 and just now googling it to troubleshoot. Absurd, people were complaining over a year ago and it persists...
