MacBook Pro M1 mouse cursor disappears

MBP M1 11.2.3 running, apple certified used item, I've had it for 3 weeks and it has done this trackpad failure twice. I figured out the second time not to mouse over anything until it's completely launched. HOWEVER. We.Should.Not.Have.To.Do.This.

I have this problem too! A cursor that sticks. It appears to occur completely randomly. Apple Support suggested I start in Safe Mode and then go into Normal Mode which solved the problem. Then it recurred when I powered up again. This is a very disappointing problem to have with such an expensive device. And Apple is offering no info on the problem - will it be solved. I am probably going to send the device back, since I have had it for less than a week. Not a device to be recommended.

Please report it to apple. I dont think that there will be an update until there are more complaints. And lets keep in touch :)

Same here BUT

it is only on the laptop window. Second screen the mouse is fine.

I have both a bluetooth and wired mice. Same issue.

I have the same issue. So I asked for an exchange device by the retailer. The retailer sent me anew MBP M1 and I have the identical same problem on the new on. The funny thing is that I reported this a few times to apple in the last 4 weeks, and they tell me, that until now i'am the only one with a bug like this. But it looks like there are many user with the same problem. Is there a solution in the meantime? Do you guys think apple will fix the bug with an update? Or is it a hardware problem?

Pretty sure this is a software issue. My best guess is that they'll fix it when the new macOS comes out this summer, possibly catered for Apple Silicon. It's also a shame Apple won't just acknowledge that this issue is more widespread than just a select few Mac users.

Exactly the same issue on my MacBook Pro M1. The tech guys were worse than useless & got me to install a new copy of the operating system after wiping the hard drive (the reasoning was that it must be an issue with one of my apps migrated from my old Mac). They actually caused more problems in the process, but I won't go into that. As for the cursor issue, it didn't make any difference whatsoever & the problem still occurs. Twice in a row this morning.

Same here, using my MBP for two weeks now and this happened when I touched my trackpad before the complete launch.

Does the the new update 11.2.3 fixes that issue or we should be that extra careful ?

Edit : just realised that there is no fix with V11.2.3 from the previous post.

Is this a problem that come only on 13" or any other model?and is a problem coming out on older Mac book that upgrades to bigger or is just a M1 problem? My 13" M1 has exactly same problem, I am using built-in trackpad.

I have the same problem. So far, I've only noticed when the laptop is turned on. In about 1 out of 10 cases, the cursor becomes invisible. There are also problems with switching languages. For the first time I am not happy with the APPLE. M1 8GB

That's the one I was talking about. It's just that my system is different language, so I named it approximately. Yeah, let me know. I still haven't had the bug and I don't remember doing anything except this, so it's gotta be it.

Thank you, will try the workaround by disabling the option. It seems to be related, I noticed the pointer becomes bigger everytime the issue occurs. As per the description under System Preferences > Accessibility > Display > Cursor: "Shake mouse pointer to locate. Quickly move the mouse pointer back and forth to make it bigger."

That's weird. Because it's been three weeks now and everyday when I start the system I move pointer fast to trigger the bug, but it doesn't trigger. I even turned that feature on again, just to see if the bug occurs, but it doesn't. Now I have no idea why it doesn't appear anymore.

Yeah - not surprising - Apple (unlike most large companies) don't even pretend to care about customers. They know you can't leave their products easily. They used to mike a high quality products with great after care/support for creative professions. Now it's just a money grubbing cult with second rate over-priced products and staff with limited knowledge that aren't allowed to behave like humans towards customers because it's outside of Apple rules/'protocol'.
