Siri won’t set my mom as my mom

Just got iPhone 12. All my contacts moved over, but she changed my mom to my spouse and my manager and my assistant. She’s listed under all three “relationships”. All my other contacts are still there and right. Including my wife as a 2nd spouse.

I erased all that my mom was assigned to, and added her by typing her in as “mother”. It changes her to manager. After a few tries I put in a name for manager and added my mom under mother again. This time it changed her to assistant. Added her again as mother and changed her to spouse. How do I fix this??

Hey there yensid7612,

We understand the relationship status you're setting for your mom is not saving as expected on your new iPhone. We'll be happy to help.

To begin, let's make sure your iPhone is fully up-to-date. Use the steps here: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If you're already up-to-date, let's complete a standard restart with the steps here: Restart your iPhone

Afterwards, double-check the steps you're using to tell Siri about a relationship: Tell Siri about yourself on iPhone

You may also want to remove and re-add any problematic contacts.

However, if you still experience issues, we'd recommend reaching out to Apple Support directly. Use this link: Get Support

Cheers!
