New iPad not holding charge

Hello! I recently put in a repair claim on my iPad. Received the replacement about a week ago, and it will not hold a charge. At 100% battery life, it will only last a few hours before it’s dead again. Is it possible I was sent a faulty device? Will they replace it again? Any recommendations on how to move forward would be helpful. Thank you!
