How do I transfer voice memos OUT of itunes and onto my PC?

Please know that help would be extremely helpful and I appreciate anyone who takes the time to even read this question, and moreso for efforts to answer it.

That said, I've seen this question answered in **many** ways that are, unfortunately for me, unproductive for my situation. Please trust that my only desire is to get my voice memo audio outside the Apple/iTunes ecosystem and onto my PC / computer as a standalone audio file. My primary intent is that I want to run a specific audio to text application on it, but let's not debate my reasons. I have other reasons and I won't be helped by some solution that doesn't involve being able to access a standalone audio file on my PC (and not in the cloud and not via email). Just a simple file transfer, right?

If the corect answer is "you can't do what you want to do", please tell me!!! That would *really* stink, and shame on me for using my iPhone to dictate voice memos, but it is better for me to know it now than to hear how to do something different. Again, I appreciate all the great answers I've read, but that doesn't cover what I need and I don't want to waste your time.

Here's where I am: I've synched my phone and my PC. I can play the audio on my PC in iTunes. But again, this isn't my goal. I want to access a standalone file on my PC. In any normal application, there would be an option to save, export, click&drag, or even a "show in folder" option to look at an actual audio file. But I'm not getting any of these options from iTunes and I don't know if there is a way for me to do this or not. I've seen prior answers describe ways to do these things... but they aren't working for me for ... some reason.

Apparently, I need more help than prior answers provided? That's frustrating because I'm normally the one helping others get things done. Apple is a huge blind spot for me. I have followed the directions in promising sounding answers, but when they get to the point where the directions say to right click and "save as" or select an option to show in folder, I get... I get nothing!! Those aren't options for me. So frustrating. The only options that appear for me are to play the audio or synch the files from the PC back onto the phone. No joy. The other options in the other answers also don't appear to be options for me. Why? I don't know!!

I presume that means there is a difference in versions or settings, between what I have and the answers that I'm reading. If it is a configuration issue, I need to know what settings need to change and how to find them. If anyone is aware of what settings (or iTunes versions) would eliminate the option to save voice audio as a file - that would be the Rosetta Stone for this issue. Can I get there from here?

Much appreciated!

On your iPhone select a recording you want to use, tap the three vertical dots and use the menu to copy to email, share, save to Fies, or Dropbox. Basically copy into any other service that will get the track somewhere you can reach it from your computer.
