iTunes Library Extras.itdb file is locked - iTunes does not boot anymore

I tried to add 1 song from my computer to the iTunes library with the standard procedure "Add song". Half way the process iTunes reported an unkown error msg and stalled.

I restarted the computer and launched iTunes. iTunes does not run anymore and now shows the error msg "the iTunes Library Extras.itdb file is locked, on a locked disk or you do not have have write permission for this file"

It then asks "iTunes needs a library to continue. You may choose an existing iTunes library or create a new one". My entire library is stored on a NAS. In the Itunes library I see iTunes Library Extras.itdb, iTunes Library.itl, iTunes Library Genius.itdb and iTunes Library.xml

Any ideas on how to proceed without causing further damage: should I select "choose library" or "create library"? What is the required file name+extension to choose?

Delete the file iTunes Library Extras.itdb. iTunes will recreate it from data in the .itl file next time you launch iTunes. If the issue persists see Repair security permissions for iTunes for Windows - Apple Community. The file you should be opening when you start iTunes is iTunes Library.itl. If you have errors opening that see Empty/corrupt iTunes library after upgrade/crash - Apple Community.
