iPhone 12 keeps crashing/re springing

So I’ve noticed when I’m watching something on safari my iPhone crashes and it’s happened to me while just being on different apps whilst listening to music on the phone. I updated the phone from 14.1 to 14.4 and it still is happening. What happens is the screen goes black and has the spinning wheel in the middle of the screen for couple seconds and then the phone ends up on the Lock Screen.

Not sure what is the reason for this and not sure if there is an issue with the phone.

If you have not yet then update your iPhone 12 to iOS version 14.4

If you have updated to iOS 14.4 and are having the crashing/re-springing issues then:

Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

  • Press and quickly release Volume UP button
  • Press and quickly release Volume DOWN button
  • Press and Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears and then release the Side button (Can take up to 20 seconds. (DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF).

Make sure you inform apple support. This is the only way we can speed the engineers up to look for a bug fix. If they tell you to restore and all that rubbish, I would let them know that we’ve been chatting to the advisors who have been working with the engineers to release a software update.

I’m just hoping that the next update fixes this because I’m losing hope.

Happens to me aswell. It started to begin on Monday this week. I have an iPhone 12 pro Max. Latest IOS Version , all Apps updated. I dropped my phone from literally 2,5 meters a few days ago. I first thougt it was Some issue on the hardware. But it happens like one time a day. Not the same time at all. 3-5 seconds black screen with loading circle, then back to lockscreen. Wonder why this didn‘t happen before. It’s just the same IOS Version. Btw i‘m not using an Apple Watch.

Hi!

I’ve been getting this issue too since Thursday. I’ve called Apple support three times and they tell me different things each time. One told me that it might be a battery thing (he didn’t even know what I was talking about), another one told me to reestablish my internet settings. And this last one man told me he things it’s a location thing and that no one else has reported this issue before. In conclusion, they don’t have any idea. I suppose it’s a software problem and I hope this does get fixed asap since we’ve all spent more than 800€ on a phone that has these stupid bugs.

I don’t have the option to update to 14.5 yet. But this has happened to me since upgrading to 14.4.2. It’s any app & not memory related. I have a X, no Apple Watch. It’s extremely frustrating! Based on all of the replies/posts I’ve read it seems to be 14.4 vs hardware or otherwise. That’s the only common thread I’ve seen. I’ll be watching for 14.5 and hoping!
