iPhone 12 mini constantly skipping through songs in Music App

My Music App has started to only play a couple of tracks, then go silent and just whizzing through skipping tracks, pressing stuff doesn’t stop it. It also heats up the phone/drains battery when doing this as it obviously processing a lot quickly.

it’s happening through home sharing. I have the most up to date iOS installed.

I’ve logged in and out, reset, de authorised, on the iPhone and my iMac, but still it persists, it’s driving me mad.

i can see from the discussion boards it’s a known issue, and I’ve tried everything I can find in the discussions, has anyone got any new thought how to solve?
