Forgot Macintosh HD - Data password

I recently sold my MacBook Pro 2020 and erased all my data and settings by following steps on apple website. Now the person who bought it from me can not access the Macintosh HD - Data. It is asking for password and password hint is for my password. But, I can not remember the password. The password I used for MacBook Pro did not work. How can the new owner access the HD - Data and what are the steps to reset password.

Have the user boot into Recovery Mode or Internet Recovery Mode and perform a clean install of macOS by first erasing the whole physical drive using Disk Utility.


Here is an Apple article showing how to have Disk Utility reveal the hidden physical drive so that the physical drive can be erased:
