Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that you have 2 iPhones that you would like to use separately instead of syncing content.
It sounds like you are signed in with the same Apple ID on both iPhones. This means that both of your iPhones are using the same iCloud account. If possible, it may be best to create another Apple ID for your work iPhone. Check out How to create a new Apple ID. You could still use your existing Apple ID for the iTunes and App Store if you wanted to so that you have access to purchased content. Or you could also set up Family Sharing between your existing Apple ID and your new Apple ID for the purpose of sharing purchased content. Check out Set up Family Sharing.
