Since iOS 14.4 update - unable to verify camera

Similar issue however I was already on 14.8 restarted my phone because it has been a few weeks since I’ve don’ done that and after restarting I had that message. Tech support asked me to update to 15.2 and the issue persists. Note have to go into a repair center directed be tech support for this issue.

The warning becomes less obvious but never goes away completely. Apple guidance:

You will see a notification on your Lock screen for the first four days that you use your device and in the Settings app for 15 days. After that period, you can find the notification by going to Settings > General > About.

I guess the question is will the fault affect what you plan to do with your phone when it is time to upgrade?

I think you will find the camera has partially failed,

If you are getting messages you really need to create a new discussion with screen shots, It could be serious and there is no point going off at a tangent on this year-old thread

Glitch in 14.4 pinch the screen in portrait will go back down to 1x

in photo hold down the 2.5 dial will show up to change zoom from 1x to 5x

super annoying for this to happen to a new phone

RIght in the middle of a long hike having reached the peak and great vistas my Pro Max suddenly popped out this "verification" message. And my camera no longer works properly. The standard camera app in photo mode allows 1x and 2x, a 3rd party app allows .5x and 1x. So I guess I can still use all three lenses if I switch apps. I thought the standard lens options were .5x, 1. and 2.5x, is that right? Strange that I now see 2x instead of 2.5, can still manually zoom to 5x.

Just got this a month ago from Verizon, maybe I should buy AppleCare and return this phone, would that work?

I also have same situation. My phone fall down on ground and the message popped out. The camera apps become black when I open it. I cn not take photo or video anymore using both front and back camera. What do you do? Do smyou send to Apple Store?

I’ve read a couple of other threads that said they managed to fix this issue by waiting a month and it fixes itself… so I have decided to wait a few weeks and see what happens. My phone is only 4 weeks old and not sure I can survive half term without a phone 🤣

Apply scamming everyone with this BS, my 4 months old pro max 12 have this msg and apple wants me pay money for new camera they shipped inside the phone when I purchased it - calming my phone was tempered why would some one tempera with the phone when you have warranty !!!!! going back to Android fck apple

All of a sudden my photo setting on camera app stopped working. Then I get this message informing me that they can’t verify my camera is an authentic apple camera which it has to be as I purchased this iphone12 new directly from apple. Apparently others are having this issue. I’m stopping all updates every time there’s an update something goes wrong

no the camera is not really broken at all I will try the forced restart. I am also getting all these weird messages that here is my new apple id code don't share it with anyone. I am just wondering why it's all happening at the same time. Apple is not sending the messages so they say.

Same issue here. I also have an iPhone 12 Pro bought directly from Apple and am getting this message. Never have I messed with the camera hardware.
