Sometimes, my MacBook screen is laggy when rendering game or simulator

Hi all,

I have problem with my MacBook screen in rendering game or simulator (it appears from bottom of screen, a dock is lagging - it kinds of repeat itself with bigger scale and blurred / noise (I don't know how to describe it in English exactly, so sorry). After a short time, it expands to full screen with a lot of laggy items on screen itself (it likes TVs on 90s with line of noise). My solution is closing the MacBook and open again, sometimes the problem is more serious and I have to shutdown/ restart MacBook. Recently, I find a way to reduce problem with closing simulator or game which is rendering. I have checked hardware with Apple Diagnostic and everything is ok. Does anyone know what the main problem is?

Hmmm..

Screen tearing is caused by the buffer switch being out of sync with the refresh cycle, which can happen at any frame rate. Frame tearing is merely more noticeable at higher frame rates. If the the frame rate is higher than the refresh rate then multiple tears can occur during a single refresh cycle.

Your Mac has only a single GPU— you are limited to:

You have an option to use an external graphics processor with your Mac https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208544

( eGPUs rely on the VRAM installed on the card, not the system RAM. It's your software that relies on system RAM. )

ex. Use Blackmagic eGPU with your Mac https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208897

What is the screen resolution when you are using the external display? The laptop's internal display is a high resolution display and many external displays may just be 1080p or 1440p unless you have a 4k display. The laptop's internal LCD Panel is more than 1440p and an Intel GPU is not a very good GPU for gaming.

Edit: See if you can lower the game's resolution to 1440p or 1080p to see how it works on the built-in display.
