I assume I have a mechanical problem with my MacBook Pro keyboard
The right arrow key stopped working about a week ago.
I've done the protocols re having a backdoor account with fresh settings, the 5x option key approach, blowing away all my Keyboard settings, yadda.
Nothing feels mechanically wrong with it, but the right arrow is the only key that doesn't work. The speaker over there works fine. USB-C over there is fine (it charges the system and my flash drive Time Machine.) The lights on the keyboard are fine.
Some circuits blew a gasket in that key, I'm guessing. I type about 100 words a minute, which means I make mistakes and need to back up and roll forward while editing. Rolling forward now requires the trackpad.
I think I'll have to deal with it until COVID settles down a bit in Northern Virginia, and I can have the motherboard replaced. This is a MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019,) and the right arrow is the only key that doesn't work. It's a dead key. It happens. It's tech.
In the meantime, I ordered another keyboard, which I didn't want to do, but I do need that front-space arrow key for writing.
Peace, be well, stay safe. rds
