Hi! I am facing the following problem.
I have several email account connected to apple mail.
I create a smart mailbox to include only the emails from the inbox of some of those accounts.
It works BUT it also includes some emails from the "Archive" or the "Important" folder in the Gmail account. The problem appears only for Gmail and is driving me nuts!

Edit the Smart Mailbox and add in two more conditions:
Use Smart Mailboxes in Mail on Mac
Test and see how the messages are filtered. Keep us posted if you find inconsistencies amongst the filtered emails.

Thanks for the screenshot and explanation. Consider a separate Smart Mailbox for each account with the 'all' condition for both 'Message in in mailbox' and 'Message is not in mailbox' conditions. Does that filter the messages properly?
If not, review the settings or preferences on Gmail webmail directly for the Archive and Important folders to see if there are adjustments that can be made.

Thank you for your answer jdo_apple but this does not work because in order to collect emails from more than one inboxes (but not from all) you have to use the "all" condition. So, if we add e.g. the 'Message is not in mailbox' condition and then select the 'archive' folder all emails from the "archive folder" appear as well. 🙂
