Solved: Bluetooth issues when running windows 10 (bootcamp)

My problem seemed like a commmon issue when using a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard.

1/ Pairing was initially a problem (“please try connecting again” with no success) which was solved by resetting SMC.

2/ PAIRING SUCCESS which works for ~20 seconds, then if Bluetooth devices are idle for a few seconds, they disconnect.

After hours of searching many forums and fiddling with drivers and power management settings, I stumbled on a really simple solution that was hidden in very plain sight all along.

Go to settings > windows update and select optional updates > Broadcom update

Once installed, the onboard Bluetooth system pairs and stays connected, allowing my mouse and keyboard to work as expected, amd ending one VERY time consuming dilemma.

I had a similar issue w/ (2) iMac Pro 2017 27" Retine Displays.

Updating to Broadcom Serial Over UART Ver 12.0.0.874 dated 5/24/18 seems to fix the issue
