Why has QQ International been discontinued from the US App store, but Chinese QQ is still carried?

Recently, I was notified that I needed to update my password for QQ International, and I was unable to updated QQ International in the app store. However, I noticed that Chinese language QQ is still carried in the US App store. I had noticed that on Tencent's website, that the download link still directs users to the USA app store. I had asked this question recently, and it was deleted for some reason. What is going on here? Is there discrimination against English speaking users of QQ? Are only Chinese language speakers allowed to download QQ now?

This is a user to user forum. Apple is not here.

No one can answer those questions here.

The developer is who usually determines which store their app is available from. These are questions for the QQ developer.

If you are looking to download it to your Mac, you aren't restricted to using the Mac App Store, but only download it directly from the QQ International website. Be careful of other sites offering the app as you may get a version that has added stuff that you don't want infecting your Mac.

If you need a version for your iOS device, you are restricted to the iOS App Store because that is a closed system and you can't download and use apps from outside the App Store.

I'm sorry that you don't feel that users volunteering here don't always respond to your actual questions or offer bizarre or unrelated links and solutions. Such is the situation when it is users of different levels and working in the forum as volunteers.

I've been here 15 years last month. I'm also the All Time King of the Hill for this particular forum. I've been volunteering here since it was a beta test 10 years ago.

But aside from Apple taking down apps that don't follow all the rules of the App Store, it is the developer who has control over the offering of their app, especially as to in which stores it is offered.

I don't have a mac. I think that there used to be a download link for Windows on an English website, but I haven't been able to find one anymore. Currently, it is no longer available neither for iOS for the US app store nor the Chinese app store. When I tried to download it to my iPhone from the US app store, it said it wasn't available, and directed me to the Chinese app store, and said it wasn't available, then it temporarily locked my account, but now my id is locked on my iPhone, but only in settings. I cannot access my password in settings now. it says my account information is not available. It tries to give me a verification code that it wants me to enter on my computer, but there is nowhere to enter it. I cannot logout of settings, and tried to reset my password, and i was sent a notification popup to my phone, but it did not do anything. I can logout of itunes on my phone, but not settings. I removed my phone from my id in my account, thinking it would do something, but I don't know how to fix it. I can still access the app store on my phone.

Ironically, iTunes had told me it was neither in the US nor China app store, but my friend, who has a newer iOS was able to download QQ International. I am still stuck with the messed up account on my iPhone. I can no longer access the app store on my phone. It prompted me to log in, and thinks I am not signed into settings, though settings shows that I am signed in there, also in the app store and iTunes. It still gives me an authorization code in Passwords & Security. Apple Support's only solution is to reset my phone to factory settings; denying that it has anything to do with locking my id. One of their reps suggested that the prompts were phishing, though it logged me out of iTunes, and keeps prompting me to sign into the app store now. Note: it only prompted me to sign into the app store on my phone after I removed my iPhone SE from my account. I believe that it only wouldn't recognize my account after the ID lock warning in my laptop's iTunes ID lock warning (which apparently isn't a new thing for people using foreign app stores). My iPhone did prompt me to change my Apple ID password a few months ago, and had this section that said "Apple ID suggestions," and when I clicked it, it said 'ID Verification failed," though I was signed into settings. it also said "connection to server failed" or something like that. I don't know why it wanted me to change my password. It has prompted me to change my password a couple of times prior to this incident, and each time, it wouldn't let me into to Apple ID suggestions. But the Password & Security is inaccessible presumably ever since the ID Lock which seems to only have happened after I was forced to login to the China App store, but ironically, it only messed up my phone, and only locked me out of the app store, when I removed my phone from my account. But I cannot sign out of settings, and the app store still thinks I am signed out.
