iPhone 8 Camera Freezing
I know it has been discussed before, and without resolution as far as I can tell (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8268147).
Problem:
After installing iOS 14, my iPhone camera can no longer be used reliably with the native camera app. When you open the app from Lock Screen or Home Screen, while in ANY of the modes, the screen shows dark. Sometimes it isn’t dark and will freeze the onscreen image as soon as it focuses. Sometimes video capture will just stop after a given period of time.
Mostly, I can’t rely on the camera on a perfectly good, undamaged 256gb iPhone 8. I’ve tried all of the troubleshooting steps outlined in the post above.
Unless it’s a terrifying coincidence, iOS 14 broke my camera. This doesn’t surprise me as (take a seat, Appel babies), Apple seems intent on breaking their older hardware. This is a ridiculous philosophy as iOS hardware is superior in all forms to any competitor, and you could ride on that reputation alone.
seriously, enough kids are breaking their phones and upgrading that you don’t have to worry about the small percentage of people that actually respect perfectly good devices and want to use them until they stop, unassisted.
that said, has anyone dealt with this and solved it before?
Cheers
Dave
