Disable Intrusive backup notifications

How do I disable notifications from the settings app which read “phone hasn’t been backed up in X many days”. They obstruct the top of the screen with a banner multiple times an evening, making it impossible to view media in landscape orientation. I DO NOT HAVE wi-fi to back up my phone with. I have unlimited LTE data, but no wi-fi. I can only back it up when I have access to wi-fi, an outlet, and the time to sit there. I don’t get a combo of the three very often, so the notification messages are a constant nuisance. I also do not wish to disable backups entirely for the situations in which I do have access to automatic backing up.

Hey there VenusDescending,

We'd like to help answer your question about those backup reminder notifications.

While we aren't sure of the exact message you're seeing, if it relates to iCloud, you can disable iCloud Backup and use a computer instead to back up your iPhone. You can always enable iCloud Backup for the rare times you're able to connect to Wi-Fi and a charger. These settings can be found within Settings > Your Name > iCloud > iCloud Backup.

While there's not a actual toggle switch to disable this particular notification, we wanted to provide a link if you want to submit feedback about this: Product Feedback

Take care!
