Gigabit vs 10 Gigabit ethernet (iMac)

I hope i didn't make a mistake when choosing the standard option of "gigabit" and not the "10 Gigabit option".

My home network is a Fiber gigabit connection, will I still be able to reach my speed of 1000mbps ??

or did I need 10 Gigabit on the iMac?

iMac Line (2012 and Later)

Hi Garden_of_Eden,

The stand gigabit ethernet goes up to 1 Gig a second (1 GBPS) - perfect for you.

If you have Fiber 1 Gig, you will never quite reach the top speed on any computer, but the new Mac, like all new devices, will get close.

Cheers,

Jack
