FCP takes forever to scan audio units and more issues

When I open FCPX it asks me to "LOCATE WAVES 9.6 FOLDER". In the window that opens up asking me to navigate to my WAVES folder, I'm unable to click into the window and make the selection.

The FCPX splash screen is still active on top of the window waiting for me to select my Waves folder.

So, essentially, I'm frozen during startup and have to Force Quit FCPX.

I'll re-open FCPX and after about 3-5 mins, FCPX will open.

This is really inconvenient because sometimes it'll take up to 5-7 minutes anytime I need to open FCPX.

Any suggestions?

Try launching FCP while holding down the Option key. Does it also ask you the same thing?

I am expecting the answer to be "no", indicating that the issue may be related to a particular library.

If the answer is "yes", try starting FCP while holding down command and option, to delete its preferences.

Confirm, then reopen the library you were working on.
