Siri "can't find Maps on my iPhone"

Hi all. What's going on when my phone's plugged into my car and CarPlay's up and running and I tell Siri to navigate to X place and she says, "Sorry, I can't do that right now because I can't find Maps on your iPhone"?

It's not like Maps has gone anywhere; it's on the same phone Siri's on. Siri is just temporarily unable to "find" it. But why? What's actually going on? And is there something I can do to prevent this from ever, ever happening again? Because when I'm under time pressure I can have a hard time dealing with Siri's absurd claim that she "can't find Maps on my iPhone".

Is having unreliable technology better than having none at all? 🤔 I'm not sure.

And she has one when this occurs...uh...unless she hasn't figured out that she's newly out of range of my wifi and needs to look to the cell signal for her 'net connection now (this does tend to happen when I first leave my apartment and get into my car, and I know it can take the phone a minute to figure out that it needs to prioritize the cell signal at such times).

Maybe that's it. Although I think when I don't have a 'net connection I see a message to that effect on my car's display while Siri says nothing.

Not sure. I guess I'll have to investigate further. Thank you for giving me something to think about and possibly solving my issue. :)
