Hi,

The Downloads page (https://support.brother.com/g/b/downloadtop.aspx?c=us_ot&lang=en&prod=mfc3360c_all) indicates that OS X 10.10 Yosemite is the latest supported operating system version for the Brother MFC-3360C.

One cannot completely rule out that an older driver would work. So, to begin with, you may want to reset the printing system and try to re-add the printer. Check whether the operating system suggests a driver. If so, carry out a test with the suggested driver. If this does not work, reset the printing system once more, and try the OSX 10.10 driver from the Brother web page.

If nothing else works, the experimentally inclined may want to carry out further tests with drivers for other models. Just as one example, the (totally different) MFC-3360C and MFC-790CW appear to use the same printer driver (4.5.0b) under OS X 10.10 Yosemite. The MFC-3360C does not have a macOS Catalina 10.15 driver, but there is one (1.5.0) for the MFC-790CW at https://support.brother.com/g/b/downloadlist.aspx?c=us_ot&lang=en&prod=mfc790cw_all&os=10060. Since a macOS Catalina driver is 64-bit, it could possibly work under macOS Big Sur as well (but it is equally possible that it will not). One wonders what would happen if someone would test the 1.5.0 driver with an old printer such as the MFC-3360C. However, it should be made absolutely clear that all experiments of this kind could lead to difficulties. There may be software conflicts. It may become necessary to erase and reinstall everything on the computer. Data can be lost. A hardware problem is unlikely, but it is impossible to guarantee anything. So, if someone would try something like this, that person must know exactly what to do. If in doubt, they should not proceed. Also, they should make sure that there are multiple backup copies of important files before starting anything.

As suggested by Brother Support, you may get by with AirPrint

otherwise the printer has no full support. A later version printer

and newer software may serve a wider field of useful purpose.

Printer Driver

We recommend using AirPrint on macOS 11.

..If your machine does not support AirPrint.. Download the Brother iPrint&Scan (*) app from the App Store.

*For more information, see the Brother iPrint&Scan section.

This has been researched. Printer is obsolete.

Another answer: consider a newer printer.

Good luck & happy computing!

Run this Through a Virtual Machine:

If there ends up being not solution for Mac, consider using a Virtual Machine(VM) for this printer (Windows-in-a-window). You would open items in it, and print right off of that. All would be accessed and would operate as desired on the VM. Virtual Machine applications include VMWare Fusion and ParallelsLearn more here: What Is a Virtual Machine? - VMware Support.

Have the Drivers?:

Get the drivers from none other than the manufacturer. Likely non-obtainable, if you have Floppy Disks, then use a Mac-only 3.5 External Floppy Disk. Getting the drivers elsewhere may result in malware or spyware being installed.

Not sure if that model of printer can work via AirPrint. There's an article

that shows most/all of those which will work by wi-fi with AirPrint.

Nothing to install.

Third-party drivers and software may be a problem with M1 Apple Silicon.

Some features regular drivers provide, won't work.

See above 'printer maker support site' for options.

If there aren't any, except AirPrint it's been superseded.

Researching Compatibility:

Start by visiting the manufacturer’s Web site. From there, access the driver download site (Found under the Contact US link) . There, you’d see if an Operating Systems is compatible when it installed on a particular Mac. Of course if incompatible, downgrade the operating system, or purchase a new printer.

Brother's Part in This:

Perhaps Brother has yet to do their part in making this compatible with your Mac's OS

  1. Go here: Contact Us - Brother
  2. Enter: your model number
  3. Proceed from there as necessary
