I have an iPhone SE and I’ve been able to view live pictures without problem. Today none of my live pictures are playing. The only way I can see a dynamic picture is if I loop or bounce. I am running the current OS 14.4 and I don’t think I changed any settings that would influence this.

OK, I have the answer. After two hours with Apple reps, I finally got connected to a supervisor who was able to solve the problem, and you're not gonna like it...
So with the latest iPhone OS update, they changed live pictures to view dynamically when you press and hold them - just what I am doing now - and didn't tell anybody.
I've requested that they change it back, and I urge everyone else to do so as well.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. From out understanding, your Live Photos are no longer playing on in the Photos app on your iPhone, do we have that right? Is this happen to all of them or a specific one? Do you see "Live" in the top left corner of the photo? Does the symbol have a line through it? If so, this would mean the live was turned off. You can select Edit, hit the live button at the bottom of the photo to pull up the Live photo options and then tap on "Live" at the top center above the photo and turn it back on ( it should turn yellow) then click done. Once that is done the Live Photo should play.

Thank you for clarifying that for us. Let's take a look at a setting that can possible affect this. If you go to Settings > Accessibility > Motion, is Reduce Motion turned on? If so, let's turn this setting off and see if you are running into the same issue with Live Photos.

Thank you for your attempt, but sadly, it is of no help.
Yes, the "live" icon is on when I take a Live picture. However, now, when I view a live picture, regardless of which one, I only see the first frame. The "Live" and circle icon is visible in the photo, but it is greyed out. I cannot get it to be otherwise and the only way that I can see a dynamic picture is if I either hold the button or force it by looking/bouncing it.
This is fairly new. I believe it started with a recent OS update.

Thanks for trying to help. Sadly, reduced motion is off. To clarify, I can touch and hold the live picture anywhere and it plays. However, none of them spontaneously play as they did before. I can't show them to a friend unless I hold my finger somewhere on the picture.
Any other ideas? Has anyone else mentioned this issue?
