Missing liquid Damage Indicator

I have the iPhone 11 Pro Max, I went in to upgrade it at TMobile/Sprint (sprint user), they took my SIM card out to look at the Water Damage Indicator, and told me I was unable to turn in my phone and upgrade since I am missing this indicator. I have never had my screen replaced, I have never submerged my phone under water, sure ive accidentally got a few drops on my screen but never nothing major.

Is there any reason or explanation my phone is just missing this indicator?

They told me if it came inn contact with liquids it would be red. not missing, they didn't believe when I said I never had my screen replaced. People who have their screens replaced, the indicator normally goes away.. but I have never had a screen replaced on any device...

I don’t think they had any idea what they were talking about. They even showed us their phones and how theirs had it... like, okay that’s cool.

ive never had my screen replaced, or any work done on my phone. No ones tampered with my phone.. they didn’t believe me.

the only reason my phone wasn’t accepted for trade was because I don’t have the LDI..

And the poor girl trying to help her coworkers kept getting shut down :( they wouldn’t let her talk to me..

I got the phone when it came out from Sprint. I watched them take it out of the box, set it up and everything. I have never sent my phone for repairs or anything.

that’s why I’m so confused as to why it’s missing. I’ve never even open the SIM card. I’ve never had Sprint open it either. I’ve always traded my old phone for the new phone and never once have they looked inside where the SIM card it. But now that T-Mobile and sprint have merged, I had to go into a T-Mobile and that’s the first I’ve ever even heard of that. They can’t take my phone with that being missing. I know they’re doing their job, I didn’t fuss. I only got mad when they were accusing me of getting a screen replacement when I’ve never had my screen repaired since I have a screen protector on my phone and no cracks or anything.. I don’t know.

Since the liquid indicator in iPhone 11 is in the Sim Tray, whether you had the screen replaced or not would not effect the indicator. If the indicator had been triggered, it would be red. If it hasn't been triggered, it would not be red. If you had replaced the screen on your phone with a non-authentic screen (only Apple or Apple Authorized Service Providers can install and authentic screen), that would be cause for the phone to not be accepted for trade.

The advice above to take your phone to your Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service provide would be the best move. I suspect the T-Mobile people don't know what they were looking for.

Hi! They handed me their light to look for myself. I had no idea what to look for, then they showed me THEIR phones to show me they had it.

Its just annoying how they didn’t believe me when I said I’ve never had my phone screen replaced... I’ve had the same screen protector on since I got my phone over a year ago... no cracks, no nothing..

i don’t know.. I’m just annoyed
