Why does screen sometimes moves over to another screen & other things?

I work from home laying in bed with my knee crossed over to prop up my MacBook Air 2017. Sometimes I'll be typing away & it will move over (literally - it slides over) to a new blank screen (will it shows things I have on my desktop but nothing I have open). After years of loosing documents that were open & I was working on I finally realized I could click onto one of the apps & go back to the original screen.

WHY is this happening??????

Hey SarongGoddess,

It sounds like you're seeing your Mac move between spaces. We can understand wanting to look into that further. We want to help.

It seems as though you may be accidentally using a shortcut to move between spaces on your Mac. You can learn more about that here: Work in multiple spaces on Mac

"Move between spaces

On your Mac, do any of the following:

  • On a trackpad, swipe left or right with three or four fingers. On a Magic Mouse, swipe with two fingers.
  • Press the Control key and the Right or Left arrow key.
  • Enter Mission Control, move the pointer to the top edge of the screen, then click a space in the Spaces bar.

If your Mac has a Touch Bar, you can set an option in Keyboard preferences to show spaces in the Touch Bar. Then just tap a space in the Touch Bar to open the space."

Thanks!
