Apple Music keeps on stop playing a track half way through and start from the beginning again

Since updating to the latest version of Big Sur, when trying to play songs from my music library (which are on an external hard drive), Music plays a song for a while, then randomly starts from the beginning of the song again. This keeps on happening again and again, with multiple songs, or all lengths, short and long, completely randomly. It happens with album tracks, with songs from playlists, and is affecting songs that played perfectly until now.

Thai is making Apple Music completely unusable on my laptop, to the point where I am seriously thinking of ditching it and switch to something else if I can.

Has anyone else had this issue? If so, do you have a solution?

There is a bug with the play queue not working properly since the introduction of Bi Sur which means that most of the time, you can't reorder the queue. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252057081

Splitting iTunes into 3 programs was supposed to make them leaner and better. I only use Music out of the 3, but it hasn't really got any better at all. If anything, what worked well at first is not really working so well these days.

I haven't, but I have noticed, since, that it only happens if I add tracks to the play queue. If I just play a album, it's fine, but if I queue it up, the stop/start think happens on a few random tracks.

Seems like, not only you can't reorder tracks in the play queue anymore, or very rarely, but now the play queue has become even less usable.

Disappointing really. One reason I started to go over to Apple was because I thought their software would be so much better without all those third party influences in MS or Android. But it doesn't seem to be the case. Maybe they should take some lessons or try and get back to being at the forefront rather than reaction to what the competition is doing, sometime 2 or 3 years behind everyone else.

I like Apple, thought they were at the forefront which justified their price tags. Never thought there would be so many bugs and problems.
