Monitor problems after 11.2.1

I have M1 Mac Mini, and have an Asus monitor connected with an HMDI-HDMI cable. Never had a problem.

After the 11.2.1 update last night, today the Asus monitor control panel has been popping up and cycling through options on its own.

I try to use the button on the monitor to close it; the control panel is initially unresponsive and then becomes responsive and closes.

Given that part of 11.2.1 was fixing "External displays may show a black screen when connected to a Mac mini (M1, 2020) using an HDMI to DVI converter", I can't help but wonder if something in the update isn't causing this problem.

Anybody else having issues like this?

Since noticing this, have you tried to restart your Mac normally?

Thanks for replying. Since I posted this I did something more simple. I plugged the monitor into my PC laptop - same thing. It's the monitor, not the M1, and I've reached out to the manufacturer. I should have done this before posting!

I have MacBook Air (circa 2015-16) and use my HDMI cord regularly. worked great until I upgraded to 11.2.1. No longer works.

In my case, I am sure that is not the case. I used the same screen connection with my HDMI the day before I upgrade to 11.2.1. There is a problem that I have not been able to fix
