Account Recovery takes way too long. Why is there nothing anyone can do?

Why does it take Apple 25 days for account recovery? They first told me a couple of weeks but I’m into the 3rd. Week with 10days to go.

Provide Feedback:

Do your Part: Let Apple know of your non-liking of this method. Apple won't get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on something, the more they will know what is going on, and what needs to be fixed. I've submitted feedback on items, and have seen it fixed.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - iTunes - Apple
  2. Select: "Feature Improvement" for "I Have Feedback About"
  3. Inform: Apple of how they show do better with iPhone designs.
  4. Include: A link to this post you’ve made.
  5. Proceed from there as necessary

Important: Be positive in your wording, elsewise it may be filtered out.

For Security & Privacy:

Apple needs to go through your financial institutions (i.e. bank) to prove that is is you. If you are concerned with someone having your credentials, then modify them immediately. Keep a hardcopy of it, and store it in a private location that only you are aware of, and only you have access to.

Modifying your Credentials:

I’ve already sent proof of purchase. I sent them my receipt as well as having Verizon on the line while trying to get into my account.

Apple then said they’re going to contact the engineers to see what they can do. They sent a Email stating nothing can be done but it shouldn’t take more than 2 weeks.

I’m 3 weeks into this not only did I buy the IPhone 12 Pro Max but also the Nike Apple Watch 6 w/cellular. I’m locked out of both.

I went and purchased a second IPhone 12 Pro Max forwarded the phone number from the one that’s locked up to the 2nd phone. I had a code sent to me and it’s still not allowing me to make a new password. I’m still locked out.

I’ve spent hrs. yesterday with support over and over again. All I keep hearing is we never seen this before. Nobody can help with anything. Reaching out to the Community is my last ditch effort to resolve this.

This being my first experience with Apple products I’m very disappointed and when the new Galaxy comes out next year I believe I will switch back. Nobody from Apple knows what to do.

I’m out a few grand to have only one phone that works and I’m stuck with 3 phone lines that I have to pay due to a glitch in Apple’s recovery process.

I never placed it into Account recovery a Apple associate did.

No help in site. Apple fumbled the ball when it comes to forgotten passwords. I just can’t believe the state of their recovery process.

Its a broken system that Apple are showing no signs of fixing or making sure the customers are not locked out like this again. It’s no wonder Apple stocks are falling like a stone. The customer support do nothing but waste your time.

The customer seems like a afterthought. I’m 3weeks with 2 nice paper weights. They wouldn’t even exchange out the phone or Watch. Only used it for a couple weeks and feeling very foolish because I switched.

Q1: Verizon Vs. Apple

"I’ve already sent proof of purchase. I sent them my receipt as well as having Verizon on the line while trying to get into my account. Apple then said they’re going to contact the engineers to see what they can do. They sent a Email stating nothing can be done but it shouldn’t take more than 2 weeks.[...]"

A1: Verizon plays no part in unlocking your account. So, keep in contact with Apple.

Q2: Getting Un-Locked Out:

"[...]I’m 3 weeks into this not only did I buy the IPhone 12 Pro Max but also the Nike Apple Watch 6 w/cellular. I’m locked out of both. I went and purchased a second IPhone 12 Pro Max forwarded the phone number from the one that’s locked up to the 2nd phone. I had a code sent to me and it’s still not allowing me to make a new password. I’m still locked out."

A2: Still have the original receipt of purchase of these two items? If so, contact Apple Support, requesting that they unlock it.

Try This while on the Phone:

Screenshare to Prove Something:

Based on everything you mentioned, this is something you need to share with Apple Support. So, if you need to prove something to them, then perform screensharing session with them. Granted permission to do so, you would use the iSight Camera on another's (i.e. Family Member, Peer, Roommate, etc.) device (i.e. iPhone, or Mac) to perform the screenshare all of this. Hover this device giving you the issue over the iSight Camera of your working device. Use with of these links:
