My apple wired keyboard stopped working with my M1 Max mini

I have the new M1, purchased new in the last month. After a couple of weeks my wired extended apple keyboard stopped working. It works on my son's m1 mac mini, but not mine. His he plugs into his monitor, not directly into the mac unit.

I can get a wired hp keyboard to work in the same USB port.

I tried going to keyboard preferences but it doesn't seem to have any options that made a difference.

I love how the apple keyboards feel, I'd like to use it!

It's a 2007 extended USB board.

Since it's new, call Apple Support and ask about this. Use the Get Support link in the upper right.

Unlike the Intel Macs with the SMC and NVRAM resets, I don't know of a way to reset the M1 Mac I/O.

Other than maybe unplugging it for thirty seconds or so, and plugging it back in.

If you call, please let us know what Apple suggests, too.
