AirPods 2 low battery notification not showing on iPhone X

No matter what I’ve tried, the AirPods low battery notification that pops up when AirPods battery falls to 20%, 10% or 5% and came as a feature with iOS 14 doesn’t ever show for me on my iPhone X. It should look like this:

I used to think it was an AirPods Pro-only feature but I found out that it shows on my iPad. I’ve tried resetting my iPhone, and I even upgraded my iOS from 14.3 to 14.4, but still nothing. Could it be that it’s a bug? If so, can Apple fix it ASAP?

I use AirPods 2 (A2031) and my iPhone X currently runs on iOS 14.4.

Have you tried resetting the AirPods themselves? https://support.apple.com/en-ie/HT209463

You mentioned how resetting the iPhone didn’t work but this might.

If this doesn’t work I’d contact Apple directly for a more official assessment of the issue. https://support.apple.com/contact

Connect the AirPods to your phone, then go to settings > Bluetooth > your AirPods > and make sure “automatic ear detection” is enabled.

If it’s not those little banners won’t appear.

It’s enabled. It always has been. But I still don’t get notified when the AirPods’ battery is low. I always get the usual “connected” notification though, if you know what I mean.
