left and right airpods are connecting separately and not working at the same time. what to do?

I tried disconnecting and "forget device" a few times. Tried reconnecting my AirPods2 multiple times but they are connecting separately. You cant use both at the same time. Need help please

iPhone 12 Pro Max, iOS 14
