Garage Band

Can anyone tell me where GarageBand stores the extra "lessons" I have downloaded ?

I have downloaded 8 piano lessons to my desktop machine but they would be much more useful on the laptop (so my wife could use them whilst connected to her e-piano)

Be handy if I could simply give her the folder of lessons.

2009 Garageband lesson files Here's a quandary for you, There's probably no solution but I thought I'd try. Way back in 2009 I downloaded a couple of artist guitar lessons for GarageBand, one by Sting and one by John Fogerty. I enjoyed them but kind of moved on. In fact, I didn't use GarageBand for years. Apparently at one point a newer version of GarageBand would prompt you to update the older files, but I never noticed. Now I'm back to playing with GarageBand and I saw that those two lessons were no longer listed. But I found the files! Of course, the current GarageBand can't open them, even though the information window for the files still lists GarageBand as the default application. So, am I out of luck? Or is there a fix available somewhere somehow? Waiting in suspense ...... Ed Merrin

Organization of files / Separate music from speech I have about a 1000 songs in my iTunes library, and I have a question that might be silly, but I use the Music app on my Macbook extremely rarely, namely to buy songs, and then I just listen to them from my iPhone. Now I've bought a CD with a language course, it contains 8 lessons and 40 sound files (mp.3) per lesson, i.e. 3200 mp3 files. I would like to import these files, and here's my concern: If I want to listen to music, and I choose anything other than 'order by album', every few songs I'll have to skip a language course files wich can be pretty annoying, especially while driving. Is there a way to avoid that? Like creating a section or something that's separate from the music files?

Why is Music memos being removed? I love Music Memos. I take a guitar or piano piece that I’m working on and it allows me to loop it, add a bass track that identifies the chords automatically, and add drum track. Then I can export this into GarageBand. GarageBand is alos wonderful, but lacks a couple of features, such as idetifying the chords. Please don’t abandon Music Memos!
