usb on Lighting to USB3 Camera Adapter stopped working

I have a genuine Lighting to USB3 Camera Adapter and have used it happily for a few years. Suddenly the usb port has stopped working so I can't connect my ipad to the devices I used to connect to. I can connect those devices elsewhere so it must be the usb port on the Lighting to USB3 Camera Adapter

that is at fault. Is there any way to reset it... perhaps as one can reset usb ports on laptops?

Hi Karen

Thanks for your help. I tried it on another device and it did not work there. I tried lots of things which led to my conclusion that the usb part of the adaptor had failed.

I got it to work again by joining it on a chain of cables to my mac's usb port. Then I did a mac restart with the command/option/shift thing that resets the computer's usbs .... It seemed to zap the Lighting to USB3 adaptor back into life!

Also if possible, we would recommend testing the issue you're experiencing with another device as well. If still having issues after the steps listed above, and when testing the issue with another device, then it's possible the issue is hardware related.
