iWatch SE accuracy

How do I fix the accuracy of an open water swim? I actually swam a fast 300m but the watch recorded a distance of 420m at an average of 2.30 /100m. Is it possible to place the watch in my swim cap instead of on my wrist to increase accuracy or any other work around? I have already gone through the support suggestions regarding other solutions.

I don't know how to fix your issue, but I do know that wearing the watch in your swim cap will not work.

You can always try resetting the fitness calibration data

From your iPhone>Watch>Privacy>Reset Fitness Calibration Data>Tap this

You will just get a confirmation box that tells you that your metrics will not be as good if you do this.

Tap confirm and do it. You will get nothing else, no confirmation but it is done.

Then go for a 20 minute outdoor run or walk using the workout app at your normal speed on a flat road/path etc

This will re-calibrate the watch
