TextEditor crashes on M1 Macbook.

Gotta say I'm very happy with my M1 Air. It runs incredibly quickly on every program I use, EXCEPT for, frustratingly, TextEditor. The beach ball turns up when I merely scroll up or down just a bit, and it frequently just freezes so I have to manually close it. Does anyone have a solution, or at least an explanation for this?

Final Cut Pro x app hangs on Validating audio units Can’t fire up FCPX. It starts then hangs on Validating Audio units. Stuck here. I reboot and try again, same thing. I even deleted the app and installed fresh copy. Still no go. Was working fine till I updated. Thanks for any help. Using Mac mini M1
